Atlanta (August 7, 1995) _ IQ Software (NASDAQ: IQSW), a leading supplier of client/server data access and analysis tools, today announced a strategic partnership with Sybase Corporation to participate in the Sybase Data Warehouse WORKS Alliance Program. As a result of this agreement, IQ Software has made a commitment to adopt the Sybase Warehouse WORKS architecture and APIs. IQ Software and Sybase will also work closely on several marketing and sales programs.

Under the program, IQ Software's recently released IQ v5.0 product suite including its new IQ SmartServer which provides three-tier architecture for data access will be integrated with Sybase data warehousing offerings. IQ v5.0 products will leverage SYBASE IQ, a SYBASE WORKS high performance interactive server option to provide scalability as well as easy access to data for users with varied needs and diverse skill sets. IQ Software and Sybase will also participate in joint marketing and sales activities, including sales force training and seminars.

IQ announced availability of version 5.0 of the Intelligent Query (IQ) family of data access solutions on July 24. IQ SmartServer utilizes an advanced three- tier architecture to partition various data access and reporting functions between clients and servers, a capability that is critical to deploy and manage medium-to-large-scale installations. The v5.0 IQ Software solution is immediately available via a direct sales force and an extensive network of VARs and distributors.
